Class Description: ToddlerSwim (45-50 minutes)
After completing our BabySwim program, toddlers (18 months - 4 years) will further develop basic swimming skills and enjoy some familiar, and new songs/activities.
Please note that our BabySwim program is not a pre-requisite to participate in the ToddlerSwim program.

Objectives of ToddlerSwim
Each child (and parent) will:

• learn about water safety - walking on the deck (no running), staying within arms-reach at all times (on deck and in water), submersion in water
• enjoy various water activities - puppets, bubbles, sprinkle buckets, ball blaster, small/large splash pads, water shooters, nets/fish, pool noodles
• learn swim skills such as the back float, ear-dipping, flutterkicking with boards and pool noodles, and blowing bubbles
• learn progessive stages for submersion in water, including front glide, humpty dumpty and torpedo-time
• learn how to climb out of pool independently, and learn progessive stages on how to jump into the pool
• learn primary colours, counting to ten, and develop vocabulary with a variety of songs/words presented to them
• learn how to share toys, and put away their own toy for each activity

Please note that one parent may participate in the class with each child (parents may alternate weekly). Also note that photographs and videography can be taken before and after each class.

Children who have successfully completed all ten elements of this program will receive a Certificate of Achievement and can move on to the KinderSwim program.

Swimsuit Required
All children must wear a cloth diaper swimsuit - regular diaper is not worn underneath.
Bummies and Gaby brands, Little Swimmers (disposable) are not permitted (due to previous "accidents" in the pool).
For every class, your child's suit must fit tightly around upper thighs and waist (to prevent leakage).
Please note - if an "accident" occurs in pool, it must be closed down for 24-72 hours (resulting in lost revenue to all companies which rent the pool).

H2O-FIT recommends the Kushies brand because we have found these suits to be the best fit for all babies.

Be sure to purchase the Kushies Diaper Swimsuit, and NOT the Kushies Diaper Wrap (the packaging on these products looks very similar but they are two different products).
